He Chao, a third-generation inheritor of the He Shuigen Ceramics Family's intangible cultural heritage, holds a master's degree from Jingdezhen Ceramic University. He is currently a teacher at Jiangxi Ceramic Arts and Crafts Vocational and Technical College, holding titles such as Provincial Senior Craftsman, Senior Dual-Teacher, National First-Class Technician, Director of the China International Celebrities Association, Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Arts and Crafts Association, Director of the Jingdezhen Arts and Crafts Association, Founder of the Family Ceramics Alliance, and Principal and Designer of the Quexi Tang brand. He Chao is a highly skilled ceramic artist deeply rooted in the tradition of ceramics.
Born into the He Shuigen Ceramics Family in Jingdezhen, his grandfather, He Shuigen, was a renowned sculptor and one of the 'Three Elders of Sculpture' in Jingdezhen. He Chao studied under Professor Ning Gang, the president of Jingdezhen Ceramic University. Combining his roles as a designer and ceramic artist, He Chao has seamlessly integrated art and ceramic craftsmanship in his over two decades of creative practice. He consistently explores innovative aspects of ceramic art, resulting in unique and emotionally impactful works.
Some of his notable ceramic pieces, including 'Master Bodhidharma' and 'Purity: Jade and Delicacy,' are part of collections at prestigious institutions such as the China Ceramic Museum, Jiangxi Provincial Art Museum, Jiangxi Arts and Crafts Museum, Jingdezhen Art Museum, and Fengcheng City Museum. He has received recognition for his work, including the Jingdezhen First Youth Artist Gold Award for pieces like 'Southern Misty Rain' and 'Reflection,' as well as the Special Prize in the Jiangxi Provincial Innovation Design Competition for 'Spring Scenery in Jiangnan.' He Chao has also contributed to various design projects, including cultural initiatives for the Jingdezhen Tianyang School and the Mingfangyuan Ceramic Art Museum.
